For 40 years EANDC has lived and breathed housing. We believe every person, regardless of income, should live in a safe quality affordable home. This is a basic human necessity. This is the American dream.
To accomplish this mission, EANDC:
Builds and manages housing and retail spaces-
EANDC owns and manages over 650 units of affordable and market-rate housing in Summit and Stark counties. These are comprised of single-family homes, senior cottages and apartments, townhomes and Veteran’s apartments. EANDC additionally owns and manages over 80,000 square feet of commercial space.
Provides energy audits and energy saving appliances to homes-
EANDC provides energy audits in low-income homes in Summit and Stark counties. Clients receive an assessment of their electric usages, consumer education, LED light bulbs and new energy refrigerators and freezers. Over 1,000 energy audits are completed every year.
Educates the community on how to buy a home, manage their credit and budget-
EANDC’s Center For Homeownership educates the community by offering homebuyer education and financial literacy classes along with individual homebuyer, financial, rental and foreclosure prevention counseling. Annually, the Center helps over 500 clients.
Engages the community in revitalization efforts-
EANDC engages the community through concerts, neighborhood meetings, local garden and Winter Wonderland event. Thousands of residents take part in these events every year.
EANDC is constantly innovating. Currently under construction is IPromise Housing. In partnership with the Lebron James Family Foundation, EANDC is building a 50-unit apartment building that will house students that attend the IPromise school and their families. These apartments are located within half a mile from the school, providing families a safe and affordable place to live close to their school community.
