COMMUNITY ACTION WAYNE MEDINA

Since being incorporated on January 13, 1966, Community Action Wayne/Medina (CAW/M) has worked to help people help themselves. As a private, 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation, CAW/M dedicates its resources to serving the low-income population of Wayne and Medina Counties through a strong network of supportive services that promote self-sufficiency based on customers' needs and by investing resources to strengthen the health, welfare and education opportunities for the families served. Primary services include:
- Head Start
- Early Head Start
- Transportation Coordination (Medical, Work, Elderly, Veteran, Disabled, General)
- Mobility Management
- Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
- Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP); Gas and Electric Assistance
- Housing Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP)
- Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)
- Summer and Winter Crisis Energy Assistance Program
- Emergency Rental Assistance
- Car Repair
- Bridges Out of Poverty
- Senior Case Management Services
- Community Health and DD Support Coaching
- Fair Housing Resource
- Food Pantry (Rittman)
- Action Fund to address unmet community needs - 100% of all donated funds go directly to services in Wayne and Medina Counties. This program supports needs where programming is not available to assist and individuals experiencing hardship who otherwise may not qualify for traditional services. Examples include transportation, home repair, critical medical, utility assistance, and employment readiness.
