LOAVES FISHES & COMPUTERS INC

Since 2009, Loaves, Fishes & Computers has been unlocking the potential within people with the least resources in Monterey County, California by providing computers, computer literacy classes & workshops. These computers and knowledge connect people to the resources, opportunities, tools, and community allowing them to live better lives with less hardship.

Loaves, Fishes & Computers, guarantees & verifies each donated computer finds an owner or family member who is elderly, low-income, on free-reduced lunch, on disability or another welfare service.

Our volunteers & staff have been providing computers to qualified people since 2009.
Recently, we created a 2-step process for eliminating computer illiteracy among our school district parents, involving their children in lively computer workshops. Our programming is built around the Chromebook platform & Google suite.

Last year we provided 2,819 computers at an average cost of $42 each, recorded ~15,500 volunteer hours, have 5 full-time employees, & taught ~ 100 computer classes. (we do a lot with a little)

LFC was started on a kitchen table in a home, with one driven and passionate individual who noticed that computers being recycled still had a lot of life left in them. The individual started to rent a small office, collect equipment, and work with other volunteers on the weekend. In 2011 a board was formed and LFC received its first grant.
