SEA INSPIRATION

Sea Inspiration began in 2002 as PlanSea.org by Founder, Ray Hollowell. In 2017 we changed our name to Sea Inspiration. We develop TV programming that teaches children about the beauty and wonders of the marine environment and how important it is for each and every one of us can participate in protecting it. We are partners with organizations such as Dr. Sylvia Earle's "Mission Blue", Kurt Lieber's "Ocean Defenders Alliance" and Mary Crowley's Ocean Voyages Institute. Locally we've partnered with NOAA, Make-A-Wish Hawaii, Access Surf and Tripler Army Hospital's Fisher Houses. By partnering with these and many more organizations, we are able to provide and receive assistance with our projects as well as theirs. We've been able to get children and adults with severe medical challenges in and around the ocean for often first time experiences. They are swimming or surfing with "Kama" the Surfing Pig) or meeting their favorite characters with surfing champion, Carissa Moore and Kama the Surfing Pig filing in. Ellie was able to live her dream of watching Kama surf after her 1st year of cancer treatment while her older siblings surfed. A mermaid has shown up to escort a journey of children on a pirate treasure hunt. We have taken them whale watching and canoeing. We have been able to get our U.S. Veterans in the ocean to learn and sometimes re-learn to surf, scuba dive, snorkel, swim with wild dolphins and observe the wondrous marine life here in Hawaii. Mermaid "Brie" has shown up from time to time. Our Military Spokesman, Col. John R. Bates, USMC (Ret.) has joined our Veterans in these activities as well as taking them sky diving, providing counseling every step of the way. We document each activity for our clients and families for them to remember their thrilling experiences. We have wonderful partners who have shared equipment and professional services and expertise working with people with specific medical conditions such as lifeguarding, surf lessons, diving and tandem sky diving Our Partners lend their boats, planes, equipment, homes, what ever is needed to make for experiences and memories of a lifetime. Sea Inspiration T.V. develops programming such as "My Beach Report" and Ocean Beauty footage that has been aired nationally on Aqua Kids and internationally. We have partnered with students in schools through out the U.S. to inspire them to research, write, direct and present their own "My Beach Reports". The Sea Inspiration Team, Board Members and Board of Advisors each bring a variety interests and expertise to ensure we provide excellent opportunities for children and adults alike to learn, enjoy and help our Marine Environment.
