Return to Dirt (R2D) is a zero-cost adaptive motorsports program service of High Fives. Originally founded in 2018 and operated by High Fives athlete #78, Tim Burr, out of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, R2D’s mission is to provide equipment and instruction for individuals with disabilities to pilot off-road vehicles into backcountry areas otherwise impossible to access because of a mobility impairment. Through this free program, R2D is breaking down barriers to access in the great outdoors and increasing inclusion in outdoor sports and recreation. Since establishment in 2018, R2D has created over 300 UTV experiences with nearly 10,000 total UTV miles driven. The R2D program is one of the only ways that members of the spinal cord injury community can get deep into nature and experience its beauty. By supporting R2D, you are facilitating these experiences that would otherwise be inaccessible due to physical or financial barriers.
