Since 2012, New Teacher Center has supported various Local Education Agencies (LEAs) across the state of Texas to center student learning and accelerate educator effectiveness. NTC is recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) as a high-quality program that partners with schools and districts to achieve their goals across all levels of the system. Below is an overview of the strategies and supports vetted by the TEA and implemented across our partnerships in Texas.
NTC’s programming in Texas includes:
- Learning Acceleration: NTC is an approved provider under the Resilient Schools Support Program (Texas COVID Learning Acceleration Supports, Decision 1). Through this TEA funding, NTC supports six partners across the state in developing strategic plans around COVID-19 recovery and student learning acceleration plans.
- Effective Schools Framework: NTC is an approved provider under Texas COVID Learning Acceleration Supports, Decision 2. This TEA funding is focused on curriculum-based professional learning. We are approved providers specifically to support partners with implementing the Odell Texas High School Literacy Program, and the Eureka K-5 Math TEKS Edition.Vetted Programming
- Teacher Induction and Mentorship: NTC's School Leadership and Early Learning Support programs have been vetted and approved as high-quality contracted services aligned to essential actions within the Effective Schools Framework (ESF). The ESF is a TEA-developed resource that provides clear guidance for what LEAs can do to ensure an excellent education for all Texas students.
- High Quality Instruction Materials Implementation: NTC is an approved provider for the Mentor Program Allotment, competitive funding that districts can apply for to develop and implement a mentor support program. In the 2022-2023 school year, we will be partnering with four school districts who were awarded these funds.
