Paradox Sports is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is the national resource for and leader in providing adaptive climbing experiences for adults and veterans with physical disabilities. Paradox Sports facilitates rock and ice climbing experiences for people with disabilities. For over ten years, Paradox has run transformative adaptive climbing weekend trips in the most iconic climbing destinations across the country. In 2017 Paradox launched the Adaptive Climbing Initiative in partnership with The North Face with a goal of making all gyms in the country accessible: they provide training to gyms, universities and other programs over a two-day comprehensive course in order for them to start their own adaptive programs. In addition, Paradox Sports provide local adaptive climbing opportunities in Boulder and beyond from the Adaptive Climbing Club that meets three times per month in the Front Range to providing custom local programs in our backyard in Eldorado Canyon State Park, the Flatirons and in Boulder Canyon. Paradox Sports seeks to recognize and foster an individual’s potential and strength, defying the assumption that people with a physical disability can’t be an active participant in human-powered sports.
