Mainstage Center for the Arts (MCA) builds better lives and communities through the performing arts by cultivating creative potential and artistic accomplishment. Mainstage is excited to be celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2023. Mainstage proudly serves its South Jersey audiences exciting, artistic, year round programming, primarily in Camden County, Gloucester County, and Burlington County. Each year, Mainstage involves between 350 - 400 young people (pre K to college age) in Summer Stage, a seven week performing arts program that produces fully staged musicals for four age groups. Summer Stage productions have included musicals such as “Moana”, “Annie”, and "Mary Poppins".
MCA also has year-round classes in our Studio Arts Education program, an after school arts program for 150 young people K to 12. Additionally, Mainstage has a professionally directed, high school age show choir, "Harmony", who perform throughout the Delaware Valley. As a complement, our Sounds of Summer concert series, held in Gloucester Township's "Veteran's Park", features local and regional bands, such as Teddy Royal (formerly Fats Domino's guitarist) and Payton Taylor, a singer/songwriter from Nashville. A highlight of our Fall Season is Mainstage's Blackwood Pumpkin Festival, featuring 200 vendors, three performance stages, and fun activities for 8,000 people on the first Sunday in October. This arts & community Festival has become a major fundraiser for Mainstage supporting our year-round arts programs.
