Over 75 programs help individuals and families in Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties, Maine, and beyond, to be safe, stable, connected, and financially secure.
Penquis programs increase financial stability, access to stable housing and reliable transportation, school readiness, and safe, nurturing environments for children and families. Services are delivered through five departments:
Charlotte White Support Services provides assisted living, residential care, and disability support services;
Family Enrichment Services provides advocacy and support for child victims of sexual abuse, behavioral health supports, early childhood education, parenting support, supervised visitation, case management, counseling, individualized treatment plans, youth development programs, and volunteer opportunities for older adults;
Housing and Energy Services provides heating and utilities assistance and education, weatherization, housing rehabilitation and replacement loan programs, improvements to inefficient heating systems, above ground tank replacement, family self-sufficiency program, radon and asbestos testing, and lead testing and abatement;
Housing Development Services creates safe, affordable rental and home ownership opportunities; and
Transportation Services provides and arranges a variety of transportation services for the general public and for specific populations, including MaineCare recipients, veterans, individuals with chronic health conditions, and individuals with disabilities.
Penquis subsidiaries – MaineStream Finance, Penquis Development, Inc., Penquis Housing, Inc., and Rape Response Services – address needs specific to lending and financial training, affordable housing development, and sexual assault.
