Cateran YOMP 2026:
The Cateran Yomp is the catalyst to bring together like-minded individuals who were wounded in the line of duty and have struggled with the transition from military life. The week in the Highlands brings them together and allows them to release anxiety and frustration to enable them to find new motivation and purpose again. During the week, the participants take part in the 54-mile hike; visit the iconic Scottish locations
Supporting the 1/5 Tribe with the Robert Irvine Foundation
A Partnership for Healing and Resilience
We are honored and excited to announce a powerful partnership with the Robert Irvine Foundation in support of our most critical mission to date: sending veterans of the 1/5 Tribe to conquer the legendary Cateran YOMP Challenge in the majestic highlands of Scotland.
This is more than a physical challenge; it is a life-changing opportunity for healing, camaraderie, and supporting the enduring spirit of our nation's heroes.

The Mission: Healing on the Highland Trail
Seven of our most proven warriors—OIF Combat Marine Veterans from the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines (1/5)—have been selected to take on the Cateran YOMP. This team, known proudly as the 1/5 Tribe, embodies the courage and resilience forged in combat.
The Cateran YOMP is a grueling 54-mile trek that the team must complete in a non-stop, 24-hour window, traversing the rugged terrain of the Scottish Highlands on June 6th–7th, 2026.
“This opportunity is a healing opportunity that is second to none.”
– Ryan Ackerman, President of 1/5 Assn.

We believe challenges like the Cateran YOMP, which require immense focus, teamwork, and mental fortitude, are essential for veteran recovery. They provide a new mountain to climb, replacing the pain of the past with the triumph of shared achievement.

Why We Need Your Support: Backing the 1/5 Tribe
While the Marines have the grit and determination, we need your help to ensure they can focus solely on their training and their mission to heal.
The funds we raise will cover the essential logistical costs for the 1/5 Tribe, including:
• International Travel: Flights and logistics for all seven veterans and essential support personnel to Scotland.
• Lodging & Acclimation: Accommodation before and after the event to ensure proper rest and preparation.
• Essential Gear: Specialized equipment, food and supplies needed for a 54-mile endurance challenge in the Highlands.
Every contribution directly supports this healing mission, allowing these warriors to step forward on their journey of recovery.

The Robert Irvine Foundation: Our Unwavering Ally
Our collaboration with the Robert Irvine Foundation amplifies our ability to serve these heroes. The Foundation is dedicated to honoring and supporting the men and women of the military, their families, and first responders. Their commitment to veteran well-being aligns perfectly with the core focus of the 1/5 Tribe's YOMP challenge.
Together, we are ensuring this incredible opportunity becomes a reality.
