The Chow Down For Veterans feeds disabled and/or homeless veterans in Stanislaus County. We serve hot meals, meals to go, and grocery gift cards, and we gather at the Stanislaus County Veterans Center so no veteran eats alone.

The Chow Down For Veterans is a Modesto nonprofit that feeds disabled and/or homeless veterans who need a meal and a place to be seen. We serve regular meals at the Stanislaus County Veterans Center: hot plates on site, meals to go, and grocery gift cards when a sit-down meal is not enough. Volunteers sit with veterans. The point is food and dignity, not a cafeteria line. We work with local restaurants, chefs, and food donors so good food reaches veterans instead of going to waste. When someone shows up in need, we help that hour. Donations through this page pay for meals, groceries, and those weekly gatherings.
