Restoring Hope: Evidence-Based Mental Health for Individuals in Need

Horry County faces a significant mental health challenge: approximately 30% of residents (+120,000 individuals) are uninsured/under-insured for mental health services. A significant portion of these individuals live in Myrtle Beach. This leaves thousands in our community without access to treatments that could meaningfully improve their quality of life. Living Water exists to bridge this gap by providing access to advanced, evidence-based interventional treatments for individuals who might otherwise go without care. Our mission is to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to overcome depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mood disorders. The program offers medically supervised, device or procedure-based psychiatric therapies that have been rigorously validated through clinical research. These include Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), PRISM, Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Neuromodulation & Spravato, delivered at accredited, evidence-based interventional treatment centers such as Radial and South Strand Behavioral Health, serving the Myrtle Beach community.

These interventions provide a higher likelihood of meaningful improvement for individuals who have not responded to traditional therapies.

Our project goals include:
1. Increase Access to Care: Provide under-resourced individuals in Myrtle Beach with access to advanced, evidence-based interventional mental health treatments.
2. Reduce Barriers to Treatment: Remove financial obstacles for uninsured or under-insured residents, enabling them to receive life-restoring psychiatric care.
3. Improve Mental Health Outcomes: Support individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mood disorders through medically supervised, clinically validated therapies.
4. Promote Evidence-Based Practices: Ensure that funded treatments are delivered at accredited, evidence-based interventional treatment centers.
