The Cosmic Cottage is a Black woman-led home venue in Fremont that reimagines what accessible live music can look like. We host free monthly events—summer concerts, acoustic nights, jam sessions, and poetry gatherings—where every attendee receives a home-cooked meal and genuine hospitality alongside professional performances. All artists, audio engineers, photographers, and videographers are compensated, and performing musicians receive professional recordings of their sets. Our programming intentionally centers BIPOC, queer, and disabled artists who face barriers in traditional venues, while our femme/women-centered jam sessions address the lack of supportive spaces for women musicians in Seattle. By transforming a living room, front porch, and backyard into a third place where spontaneous passersby and dedicated community members alike feel welcomed, we're proving that radical accessibility—free admission, nourishing food, safe environment, fair pay—can sustain vibrant artistic community.
