The Queer Culture Club is a nonprofit archive and social club to host the life stories of queer people and encourage queer cultural creation via hands-on creative activities. We host art & literature meetups, hold a growing archive, and publish a quarterly community anthology by local queer creators. We work with artist groups such as the T4T Collective and T-Slur Collective to bring queer art to the public, showcasing the complexity of our lives, loves, and artistic ambitions. Meetings bring together youth who have only recently discovered that there is such a thing as a queer community with elders who remember the beginnings of the AIDS crisis, and we do so in a structured space that is centered on art and thoughtful communication. We also emphasize sobriety, knowing the greater rates of addiction that afflict our queer community, but do not demonize the coping mechanisms of our peers and ancestors.
