Sacred Heart Shelter provides safe, comfortable shelter to families experiencing the crisis of homelessness. We welcome families with minor children (18 years or younger), including families with male heads of household or other guardians who are staying some place not intended for human habitation.
Mission:
Sacred Heart Shelter empowers families to stabilize and normalize through on site case management, connections to resources and by providing a safe, home like refuge for the entire family. We strive to ensure families exit homelessness permanently.
Volunteer:
• Do you have a gift or talent you would like to share? Come lead or help with an activity for our clients and kid’s activities
• Help with our monthly party, lead games or crafts.
• Sponsor a shelter improvement such as yard work projects for flowers, gardens, and playground equipment for our outdoor space. Also building maintenance supplies such as paint, plumbing needs, and facility grade furniture etc.
• Sponsor or help with special events at the shelter such as back to school events, and holiday parties.
• Sponsor a Fundraising activity to raise much-needed funds for our shelter program.
Make a meal: Our families are in a space where they can cook their own family meals, however if you love to cook…..Please consider bringing a meal to our monthly Birthday celebration, or holiday. We gather as community and share a meal once monthly and celebrate all the Birthdays each month. We celebrate kids, parents and staff! It is a lot of fun and we would love to have you join us and provide a meal for approximately 25 adults and kids.

If you are looking for a way to support families who are experiencing homelessness, here are some options:
• Purchase $10 gift cards to McDonalds, Dick’s Burgers, movies, Starbucks, etc. for our incentive programs for our children. We love to catch them being great at school and home. They get their name in the “I am great” box and we draw monthly for gift cards, the kids love it and truly emulate the great behaviors we expect from them.
• Purchase $25 gift cards for grocery stores such as Safeway, Fred Meyer, Target etc. The cards will be used for parents Birthdays, and for clients experiencing food insecurities.
