What is the biggest hurdle for our Veteran community? Resources.

I recently had a conversation with a Veteran that told me that he was at a point of weakness and thought there was no way out, but wanted to reach out to someone before making a permanent decision. He called into a suicide hotline. He spoke to the young lady and explained that he was weak and ready to end it. She tried to talk to him, to comfort him but to no avail, she couldn't break through. He, being at the end of his rope said to her “I have a gun in my mouth and I'm ready to go”. Her response shook him. She said, “well I guess you have a decision to make..”

I hear stories like this all too often. Veterans that are not getting proper needs filled. The person on the other end of the line should have been a professional, someone who knew how to respond, not to just talk someone down, but offer Hope. He was in such shock and confused by how flippant she was on the phone that he literally hung up, put the gun down and looked elsewhere for help. Too often this happens to our heroes because they do NOT have the resources they need. And too often they look no further and make a permanent decision. Thankfully, that Veteran is now a recipient of Mission Phoenix’s help and is living an amazing life.

Now imagine a one stop location for our Veteran and Military community. A place where a Veteran can find every available resource in their local area, under one roof. Mission Phoenix “HUB” is doing just that. Not just a local network of all the available resources and nonprofits, but an actual location that houses local nonprofits, bringing all the available resources together, under one roof. No more does a Veteran have to google, search or go without resources in their area. They just have to go to the HUB for all their needs.
According to a recent Pew Research Center survey of 1,853 veterans. While more than seven-in-ten veterans (72%) report they had an easy time readjusting to civilian life, 27% say re-entry was difficult for them—a proportion that swells to 44% among veterans who served in the ten years since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This is our Target.
In every community Veterans live in a situation where they are lost. They have struggled to adjust into civilian life. They have battled with lack of self worth, opportunity, jobs, families and the list goes on and on. Having a localized HUB for them to be able to seek resources, counseling, jobs, food etc is critical for their survival. On average 22 Veterans every day take their life due to complications with PTSD. Many of them simply lacked the help they needed because they couldn't find it.

Mission Phoenix understands this first hand. The founder's father was one of those Veterans that lacked the help and resources needed to survive, ultimately leading to loss of life on May 23rd, 2017. Mission Phoenix is not just a nonprofit trying to save lives, we are also a network for other nonprofits that are bettering the lives of the Veteran Community. Because it's personal and TOGETHER we can change the number.

HUB Mission:
To eliminate the barriers of finding resources, training, counseling and opportunity for our Veteran and Military community by providing them with a one stop network of available local companies and nonprofits that can meet their needs.

HUB Vision:
Mission Phoenix desires to be the beacon of Hope in the Veteran and Military community. Creating HUBs across the nation in all highly Veteran populated areas. Becoming a sanctuary for them. To provide a location to build the “brotherhood” they desire and need while providing the help they deserve.

We have a vision for 2024 to see the first HUB running to capacity. Saving lives and meeting needs. But we will never achieve it without the help of amazing companies like yours. We are asking that you come alongside us, help us build what our Veterans not only need, but what they are asking for. Don't they deserve it? This is the most advanced plan for saving our Veterans lives and we need you to be part of it.
