More than 34 million people in the southwestern US are under a flood watch today as a powerful storm continues to batter California. The storm has forced thousands to evacuate, prompted dozens of water rescues, swept away vehicles, and caused widespread damage. California has gone from extreme drought to extreme flooding in a few days. On Monday, 90% of the state’s population was under a flood watch.
