Why Dental Care?
Most people don’t realize that the Department of Veterans Affairs provides dental care only to a small subset of veterans—those who are 100% disabled, former POWs, or have a service-connected dental condition. As a result, fewer than 15% of the 20+ million veterans in the U.S. qualify for VA dental benefits. That leaves over 18 million veterans without access to dental care.

Low-income veterans often delay treatment due to cost and instead rely on emergency or low-cost clinics, never reaching a state of lasting oral health. This leads to chronic pain, infections, and related health problems that diminish quality of life.

E4V changes that. Our comprehensive care model recruits dental professionals to provide pro bono services in the veteran’s own community. This approach reduces barriers like travel, fosters long-term care relationships, and breaks the cycle of emergency-only treatment. Services include cleanings, crowns, root canals, bridges, implants, and more—often in collaboration with dental labs and specialists who also donate their time and resources.
