JEANS ANGELS

Moncks Corner, South Carolina

Jean’s Angels is a South Carolina nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring dignity, stability, opportunity, and hope for children, families, seniors, veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, cancer patients and survivors, and other vulnerable populations. Founded in Berkeley County, Jean’s Angels has established a strong presence throughout Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties, while extending services to communities across South Carolina through mobile outreach, partnerships, community events, emergency response, and specialized programs. Our mission is grounded in the belief that every person deserves equitable access to basic necessities, compassionate support, education, and opportunities to build a stable and productive future, regardless of their circumstances or location. We address interconnected challenges including food insecurity, homelessness, poverty, housing instability, unemployment, transportation barriers, health challenges, and limited access to education and economic opportunities. Jean’s Angels provides food assistance through our Food Bank, food distributions, meals, and emergency food programs. Our Day Shelter and Resource Center provide individuals experiencing homelessness with showers, clean clothing, hygiene products, food, household necessities, referrals, and connections to community resources. Our expanding Warming Center and Community Resource Hub will provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness and community members affected by extreme weather and emergencies, while connecting participants with housing, employment, healthcare, education, and other resources. We are committed to helping children succeed through our Backpack Buddy Program, school partnerships, after-school programs, summer enrichment, STEM activities, and seasonal giveaways. Backpacks include school supplies, food, hygiene products, clothing, and seasonal essentials. We work with schools, counselors, social workers, and McKinney-Vento programs to support students experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or financial hardship. Jean’s Angels also supports families facing financial hardship by providing food, household essentials, clothing, hygiene products, emergency assistance, and disaster relief resources. We connect individuals with resources that can strengthen financial stability, workforce readiness, educational attainment, and self-sufficiency. Through our mobile outreach programs, Jean’s Angels brings resources directly to underserved communities where transportation and geographic barriers may prevent access to traditional services. We collaborate with schools, churches, healthcare organizations, businesses, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders to expand our reach and respond effectively to emerging needs. Our Cancer Resource Center provides specialized support to individuals and families affected by cancer, including food, household supplies, hygiene products, nutritional support, and connections to additional community resources. We also respond to families affected by fires, storms, natural disasters, displacement, and other emergencies by providing essential supplies and assistance. Jean’s Angels is committed to measuring our impact through data, participant feedback, community input, and partnerships. We track individuals and families served, meals and food boxes distributed, students supported, emergency assistance provided, shelter utilization, referrals, volunteer engagement, and resources distributed. This information helps us identify unmet needs, improve programs, demonstrate outcomes, and ensure resources are used effectively. Although our roots are in the Lowcountry, our services and partnerships have reached communities throughout South Carolina, including Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, Jasper, Williamsburg, and Georgetown counties. We envision a South Carolina where children have the resources to succeed, families have access to nutritious food and basic necessities, individuals experiencing homelessness have pathways toward housing and stability, and people facing illness, disaster, or financial hardship do not have to face these challenges alone. Through service, education, advocacy, partnerships, and community-driven solutions, Jean’s Angels is committed to putting God’s love into action and creating pathways to dignity, stability, self-sufficiency, and hope for every person we have the privilege to serve.
