The Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS Team) of Tom Green County is West Texas Counseling & Guidance's main postvention service. The LOSS Team is a group of trained volunteer survivors of suicide and a therapist that responds in teams of two to scenes of local suicides to provide information, resources, and peer-support to the recently bereaved. LOSS Team is available to be deployed to scenes of death year around, 24/7. The delay of time for seeking help allows for maladaptive coping and compromised activities of daily living to occur.

100% of the funds for this project will be used exclusively for LOSS team’s clean-up fund. That is, to help survivors of suicide to offset the costs of the professional cleaning of the death scene to reduce traumatic effects on the recently bereaved.
