SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — After completing initial assessments of the areas affected by the earthquake, our team has decided to focus on Jojutla and Juchitan. Our team is working to assemble and distribute care kits to earthquake survivors in need. Each care kit contains 35 pounds of the following:
- canned vegetables
- tuna
- pasta
- beans
- rice
- salt
- cooking oil
- cereal
- shelf stable milk
- salt
- snacks
The care kits will also include five pounds of hygiene items including:
- laundry detergent
- bleach
- toilet paper
- soap
- shampoo
- feminine products
- toothpaste
- toothbrushes
We will also be working with local partners to help install up to 500 family shelters.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The death toll in Mexico has risen to at least 273 people following Tuesday's magnitude-7.1 earthquake. The devastating earthquake flattened entire towns and decimated buildings across Mexico City and nearby areas.
