SYSTER Project : House to HOME: Financial Education & Homebuyer Readiness
di MORETTA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATIONHouse to HOME equips renters and aspiring first-time homebuyers with practical financial education, credit-building support, and homebuyer readiness tools—helping families strengthen stability today and prepare for sustainable homeownership tomorrow.
Through culturally responsive education and hands-on coaching, participants gain clarity around budgeting, savings, debt reduction, and credit improvement while learning how housing systems work and what it truly takes to be homeownership-ready. The program meets people where they are and supports realistic, step-by-step progress toward financial confidence and housing stability.
Program components include:
Financial Education & Coaching: Budgeting, banking access, savings strategies, debt reduction, and credit-building support designed to improve financial readiness and long-term stability.
Homebuyer Readiness Education: Clear guidance on the homebuying process, mortgage basics, affordability planning, documentation preparation, and pathways to down payment and closing cost assistance (where available).
Guided Housing Resource Navigation: Hands-on guidance and warm referrals to trusted local housing and financial resources that support stability and prevent displacement.
Healthy Homes & Long-Term Sustainability: Education on home maintenance, energy efficiency, and sustainable housing practices that help families maintain stability after securing housing.
House to HOME addresses the growing financial and housing barriers facing families by turning complex systems into clear, actionable steps. Rather than focusing on transactions, the program emphasizes education, readiness, and informed decision-making—building a foundation for long-term economic mobility and generational well-being.
