About This Cause
Since 2014, Personal Care Calling Services has served people across all 50 states who too often have no one else. Many of our recipients live alone, on fixed incomes, with no family nearby. For many, we are their only daily point of contact and their emergency contact. Every service we provide is free.
What we do:
Daily Reassurance Communications. A scheduled daily check-in by call, text, or email, personalized by name, with medication reminders where needed. If someone does not respond or tells us they are not okay, our system retries, alerts our on-call team, and a PCCS representative personally requests an in-person wellness check when no one else can be reached.
Advocacy with Needs Based Research. We help people navigate advocacy programs, community agencies, and benefits, and we provide provider research assistance. We do the legwork and walk each person through clear next steps.
Tangible Needs. We help provide everyday items Medicare and Medicaid often do not cover, such as walkers, shower seats, grab bars, non-slip bath mats, and memory care notebooks.
In October 2026, we launched the DPOM Care Communications Platform, software we designed and built in house to run our daily communications and escalation. Care organizations can have PCCS run a reassurance program for them, or license the platform under their own name, and that revenue goes back into our free services.
PCCS is regularly contacted by UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the Veterans Administration, AARP, and hospital social services. The need they bring us is growing faster than we can scale, and funding is what closes that gap. In 2026, PCCS was awarded a Twilio.org Digital Innovation Grant, and we hold Candid's 2026 Platinum Seal of Transparency.
Here is one recipient's story, in his own words:
"I have received daily reassurance emails and calls from Personal Care Calling since 2014. I fell down my basement stairs during the winter of 2019 at Christmas time, broke my femur, and suffered a bad concussion. Had it not been for my scheduled email not being sent by me, I would have passed away in that basement. It was freezing temperatures, and I was badly injured. Personal Care Calling followed their protocol and reached out to my neighbors and the police, and I was rescued, taken to the hospital, rushed into surgery, and fully recovered. This outcome was because of my "Daily Reassurance" communication from PCCS. I am so grateful that this personalized service helps me to have peace of mind as I live alone in my late seventies and that someone cares and checks in on me."
