In order to perform the Charity Sewing activities for our recipients, the guild holds programs for its members to get inspiration for quilts and other items. The Guild pays for experts in various fields to come to our meetings and present their talents with an occasional workshop on the following day.
The Guild also maintains an inventory of fabrics, supplies and portable sewing machines as well as larger items for use in markets and conferences. The items include display racks, tables, finished quilts and items for sale. The Guild also stores charity items until they are inventoried, assigned to a charity and ultimately delivered.
The Guild is looking to rent an air conditioned storage unit and/or workspace where we can house these items rather than keeping them in members homes. This would allow for more efficient inventory assessment and the ability to more effectively determine where monies should be spend to augment our charity and market efforts.
