STABLE HANDS INC
WAUSAU, WisconsinStable Hands offers Equine Therapy and Activities to children and adults with special needs. We have been in operation as a 501(c)3 non-profit since 1992 and are a member of PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship). We operate on a 28 acre property with a heated 160 x 80 indoor riding arena and a brand new stable. We seek to improve each person's physical, emotional and cognitive development with caring, compassion and a plan to make a difference.
Therapeutic riding and activities have helped with a very wide range of special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, developmental disorders, spinal cord injury, brain injury and Cerebral Palsy. It has also helped military veterans coping wit physical injury or trauma sustained in combat (we now have a program for veterans). Clients participate in a variety of games and activities with the horse that help to build balance, coordination, strength and confidence in a positive environment. We are adding a mental health program now too.
