Bridging the Digital Divide – August Tech Donation for Underserved LA Communities

Truconnected is proud to launch its August Tech Equity Drive, where we will donate 25 refurbished computers to underserved families and individuals in the Los Angeles area. This effort supports digital inclusion, empowers education and workforce access, and reduces the environmental toll of electronic waste—all at once.

Project Description
Access to reliable technology is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. Yet thousands of individuals in Los Angeles still lack the basic tools to connect with school, healthcare, jobs, and community services. This August, Truconnected will step up to fill that gap by distributing 25 fully refurbished laptops and desktops to students, seniors, and job seekers in neighborhoods most affected by the digital divide.

Each device will be pre-installed with essential software and comes with:

A digital literacy starter kit

Personalized setup support

Access to free online training

A 3-month tech support guarantee

We’ll partner with local organizations, including schools, libraries, and workforce development centers, to ensure the devices reach the people who need them most.

Why This Matters
Education: 1 in 3 students in low-income LA households do not have a computer at home.

Employment: Job seekers without access to digital tools are at a disadvantage in today’s hiring landscape.

Equity: Closing the tech gap helps close the opportunity gap.

Sustainability: This project will divert over 500 pounds of e-waste from landfills.
