Goal and Mission Statement
Goal:
To provide personalized, boots-on-the-ground outreach to homeless veterans, guiding them step by step on their journey back to stability, independence, and reintegration into society.
Mission:
First Step Forward is committed to restoring hope and dignity to homeless veterans through trust-building relationships and comprehensive support. We assist veterans in accessing local shelter programs, obtaining essential identification and service records (e.g., DD214), and enrolling in VA Healthcare to address medical and mental health needs. Additionally, we help veterans apply for VA disability benefits or non-service connected pension they may be eligible for, ensuring they receive the support and recognition they have earned.
By partnering with shelters and local organizations, we help veterans find employment and establish a clear path to becoming self-sufficient and productive members of society. Our mission doesn’t end with the first step—we walk alongside each veteran throughout their journey, providing guidance, encouragement, and a steadfast reminder that someone still cares about their well-being and success. Together, we aim to ensure no veteran is left behind in their pursuit of a better future.One Veteran at a time.
