For over 20 years Musicians On Call (MOC) has brought live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. MOC Volunteer Musicians have performed for more than 800,000 patients, families, and caregivers at facilities across the country. Musicians On Call is the nation’s leading organization delivering the healing power of music, serving individuals in facilities ranging from children’s hospitals to adult facilities, VA hospitals, and hospices.
We have streamlined our programming to meet the demand of hospital partners and offer program solutions that continue to give patients and caregivers access to music that supports the healing process by improving mood, pain tolerance and mental outlook, and providing a human connection. And now, social distancing is causing more of us to feel the same stress and anxiety that patients often feel when in the hospital, so we want to provide programming for anyone who can benefit. Musicians On Call (MOC) is focusing our efforts on bringing welcome relief to both hospital patients and anyone feeling isolated by expanding our Virtual Bedside Performance Program, Music Pharmacy Program, and releasing the #MOCHeals Playlist. MOC has an opportunity to be truly “on call” and will transform how the healing power of music is used to improve the patient and human experience.

Virtual Bedside Performance Program
Musicians On Call’s Virtual Bedside Performance Program brings volunteers guides and volunteer musicians directly to patients, homebound seniors, and those in need of remote, live music. By utilizing video conferencing technology, volunteer guides host a 30-60 minute live session with performances from a volunteer musician. Because of this unique set up, volunteers and those dialing in can be located all over the country and multiple hospitals can join at once. Guides and musicians interact, tell stories, and can even answer patient questions passed to them from hospital staff.
Music Pharmacy
Musicians On Call’s Music Pharmacy gives patients innovative technology to access the healing power of music at their bedside, including tablets equipped with streaming music and noise-canceling headphones, with the help of Amazon Music and Bose. Each Music Pharmacy hospital recipient will receive three tablets with streaming services set-up and noise-canceling headphones. In addition, each Music Pharmacy has custom-curated playlists featuring music that promotes positivity and healing for the hospital environment. Each Music Pharmacy is provided to hospitals completely set up, and ready for patient use.
Healthcare Hero eCards
Right now, our mission to deliver the healing power of music is more critical than ever before. We could all use some hope and healing - especially our Healthcare Heroes on the frontlines. We are continuing to bring music to caregivers and patients 5 days a week, and now you can give the gift of music to a Healthcare Hero you know. Show that you're thinking of them by sending an eCard that features a video of a song recorded by one of our talented volunteer musicians. For every eCard, Musicians On Call also provides a song for a patient in the hospital.
#MOCheals Playlist
Musicians On Call released the #MOCHeals Playlist, a compilation of music videos recorded by MOC volunteers with patients in mind. This playlist is shared with hospital partners and is available to patients or anyone who may feel isolated, lonely, or just in the need of a pick-me-up as a result of COVID-19.
