The Gotham Film & Media Institute (formerly IFP) champions the future of storytelling by connecting artists with essential resources at all stages of development and distribution. The organization fosters a vibrant and sustainable independent storytelling community, represents a growing network of storytellers around the world, and plays a key role in developing 350 new feature film, documentary and audio works each year. Its year-round programs, include Gotham Week, Gotham Labs, the Gotham Awards, Gotham EDU, a fiscal sponsorship program, and the publication of Filmmaker Magazine. During its 45-year history, The Gotham has supported over 10,000 projects and offered resources to more than 20,000 filmmakers, including Barry Jenkins, Chloe Zhao, Debra Granik, Miranda July, Michael Moore, Dee Rees, Nanfu Wang, Laura Poitras, Richard Linklater, Julia Reichert, and Ava Duvernay.
