My work entails making sculptures and experiences.
Currently making three large alebrijes for Burning Man 2023 with three complimentary 6' painted benches.
The benches are designed to be comfortable for people to sit in for a good amount of time to commune with the art and each other.
The sculpture base will be steel and covered with steel mesh. They will then be covered in a type of paper-mache and painted. After that they will have a protective clear lacquer applied.
They will be presented together and can also be shown individually in the future as each piece can stand alone. The collection can also grow.
Some of the paint used will be fluorescent and the pieces will be lit by black lights to add additional magic.
