The Kim Rodrigues Foundation, established in June 2024, was created to honor the life and legacy of Kim Rodrigues by supporting the causes that defined her compassion and generosity. Although still a young organization, the Foundation has already made a meaningful impact across its four core initiatives: advancing nursing, healing children, rescuing animals, and supporting soldiers, veterans, first responders, and their families. These areas of focus reflect the same passions highlighted in the Foundation’s public materials, which celebrate Kim as a SUNY Orange alumna, a champion for children, an advocate for animals, and a steadfast supporter of those who serve.
The Foundation provides nursing scholarships at SUNY Orange, Kim’s alma mater, helping future caregivers enter the profession she held dear. It also offers critical financial support to children battling pediatric cancer and to families navigating the hardships of treatment. In keeping with Kim’s deep love of animals, the Foundation contributes to pet shelters, animal rescue organizations, and foster networks, aiding efforts to protect and care for animals in need. Additionally, the Foundation provides financial assistance to families of fallen military personnel and first responders, honoring those who selflessly serve and protect their communities.
Though less than two years old, much of the Foundation’s philanthropy to date, approximately 80 % has been personally funded by Kim’s surviving spouse, George Rodrigues. Beginning in 2026, the Foundation will expand its fundraising efforts through weekly summer rentals of the Rodrigues family’s Cape Cod home, with future plans for community‑driven events such as 5K races, charity walks, raffles, and auctions.
To date, the Kim Rodrigues Foundation has raised and donated more than $30,000 to its four core initiatives, including the funding of seven nursing scholarships at SUNY Orange. With steady growth, strong community support, and an unwavering commitment to Kim’s values, the Foundation continues to carry forward her legacy of compassion, service, and strength.
