Since 1997, U.S.VETS Houston has served thousands of veterans with transitional, emergency and permanent supportive housing; mental health and substance use treatment; supportive services for veteran families (SSVF); case management; and career services. The site provides comprehensive services for veterans at Veterans Village in the Willowbrook area, opened in 2023 after a full-scale renovation of a former hotel now equipped to house 130 veterans. Veterans may also access a service center on Griggs Road, right outside the VA Medical Center. U.S.VETS Houston is proud to have contributed to the reduction of veteran homelessness in our community, propelling Houston to be among the major metropolitan cities in the U.S. with one of the lowest rates of homelessness and a model nationwide.
