Healing Reins' Transition to Tumalo

The Opportunity:
For nearly 25 years Healing Reins has sustained itself and continued to grow, largely due to the generosity of our donors. To accommodate this significant growth and serve our ever-growing community, we are moving our services to our very own beautiful, state-of-the art 30 acre equestrian facility in Tumalo, Oregon this spring of 2024.

Over the next 6 months, Healing Reins will focus on adapting our new site with accessibility improvements as well as working to increase the visibility and awareness of this newly acquired location in Tumalo in the community. These ADA-aligned improvements, along with increased outreach, will expand our Equine Assisted Mental Health and Adaptive Horsemanship services to further reach rural populations in Central Oregon including Tumalo, Redmond, Sisters, and Madras. Your support of Healing Reins is pivotal to our organization as we embark on this momentous journey to better serve our community’s growing needs to heal with horses.

We are thrilled to announce that in April 2024, Healing Reins will relocate all of our services to our new site. This requires a temporary pause in our services to physically move to our new location and begin serving the greater Central Oregon community again in May. Due to this temporary shutdown, we must secure our fundraising goal by the New Year to reengage services as soon as possible in order to minimize the impact to our valued participants who count on their weekly service as well as keep our vital volunteer base supporting Healing Reins on a daily basis.

Capital Needs:
There are still $225,000 of capital improvements required in this $1.4 Million dollar capital campaign to provide unrestricted access to our participants with physical, cognitive, mental and emotional disabilities at our new Tumalo location (65325 Cline Falls Road). These include:
● Pavement for ADA parking ● Physical & Occupational Therapy room
● ADA Striping for parking and signs ● ADA compliant viewing area
● Wheelchair Ramp & Lift ● ADA bathroom fixtures, toilet,
handrails, sink, septic
