Legal Foundation of Washington

The Campaign for Equal Justice is our state’s annual fund drive for civil legal aid and the fundraising program of the Legal Foundation of Washington. We fund 40 legal aid providers annually across Washington state. Each year, we help 25,000 families with direct legal services and fund high-impact litigation and advocacy to increase race equity and justice and reform unjust systems.

Unlike criminal cases, the Constitution does not guarantee legal assistance in civil cases. Without help, more than 500,000 low-income people each year are left to navigate complex legal issues on their own.
