Aromananda was born from a simple yet powerful vision: to make wellness accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, income, or background. In a city as fast-paced and diverse as New York, wellness is often treated as a luxury- but we embrace it as a birthright. What began with small yoga circles in local schools has grown into a thriving non-profit movement, bringing holistic health to those who need it most, especially low-income families, women, and seniors who too often place their own wellbeing last.
We are more than an organization-we are a community of educators, volunteers, and wellness advocates united by a single conviction: collective wellbeing creates a better world. For us, true wellness extends beyond the physical; it embraces the mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of life. Aromananda envisions a future where holistic wellness is woven into the fabric of everyday life across generations- where adults are empowered to nurture well-being at home, teachers serve as wellness leaders in schools, and seniors thrive in supportive communities grounded in dignity, vitality, and belonging.
By equipping educators in Queens public schools to model and teach holistic well-being each day, we plant the seeds of wellness in young minds and hearts, helping children grow into healthy, resilient, and compassionate individuals.
As teachers themselves are renewed through this work, that impact extends outward to families, friends, and the wider community, creating a powerful ripple effect. Through education, practice, and compassion, we aspire to build resilient communities where wellness is not an exception, but a shared and lasting reality.
By strengthening lives today, we are shaping a brighter, healthier tomorrow- and creating a city where seniors are never sidelined but embraced in every community space.
