bKind partners with organizations to help address the DIGITAL DIVIDE and ensure educational equality.
Street Code is part of bKind's LEAD initiative (Learn, Excel, Achieve, & Dream!), providing educational resources, coding instruction, and opportunities to children in underserved communities.
As a LEAD sponsor, our generous donors, partners, and volunteers contribute valuable resources that result in lasting change and break the cycle of poverty and trauma for grateful families and recipients.
STREET CODE offers LEARNING TO CODE kits and programs to ensure all students, especially those who lack access to academic and technology related resources, can learn how to code. In an increasingly technology driven world, youth in cities filled with resources and wealth, lack the basic resources and support to learn coding, a skill that can transform their futures.
Street Code includes:
• Learning to Code Kits
• Microsoft Tech supplies
• Backpacks
• School Supplies
• Kind Kits: Items to promote mental wellness, learning, kindness, & health
• Events, workshops, and trainings: AI, writing, technology, career paths, & job skills
• Juneteenth Gratitude Journals
• Mentorship and Career Development Sessions with top executives
• Support in overcoming challenges to achieve overall wellbeing
DIGITAL DIVIDE causing students to be left behind:
• DIGITAL LEARNING: homework assignments require computers
• 1 in 5 U.S. teens are unable to finish schoolwork due to DIGITAL DIVIDE
• 90% of high schoolers reported they were assigned internet-based homework
