Healing Reins of Kentucky, Inc. provides equine-assisted activities and therapies for individuals with disabilities including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, head trauma and visual/hearing impairments. Our mission is to assist individuals in reaching their full potential through interaction with horses.

Equine-assisted activities and therapies provide a powerful new paradigm to achieve positive outcomes for those with special needs. The goal of equine-assisted therapy is to assist children and adults in reaching their goals while engaging with the horse as a partner. Such goals might be to improve speech, increase balance/muscle tone, improve cardio health, promote independence, or encourage social interaction. This type of therapy also provides for the development of social skills, self-esteem and trust for young people. Research shows that individuals who participate in equine-assisted activities and therapies can experience physical, cognitive and emotional benefits. Healing Reins of Kentucky, Inc. provides this experience for individuals with special needs by offering therapeutic horse-riding and grounded lessons.
