The vision of The Cat is to be the "Off-Off-Broadway" of Carmel Indiana, giving the artists of Carmel a local, welcoming, and affordable place to play; and giving audiences an affordable place to be entertained. The Cat offers residency for theatre companies without a home and is available for artistic events, classes, recitals and private events. The Carmel Apprentice Theatre draws together theatre veterans coming to play that role of a lifetime, with apprentices curious to perform for the first time in their life. Fearless artists and shy apprentices will perform alongside each other to create great theatre, great community and great fun.

The Cat is a non-profit in the center of Carmel, IN that maintains affordable space for artists to perform. The hardest thing for artists to find is space and our goal is to provide a nice, clean, professional space for artists to present there work. We also strive to incubate new artists, whether that be community theater groups, new professional ballet companies, schools, or recitals. We also run our own program called the Carmel Apprentice Theatre. Which is a no audition arts program for adults, allowing us to serve those who may have never been on stage or have been away from the stage for a few years. We allow a low stress environment for everyone to join back in on the arts.
