ACT-IAC Gives Back is an initiative that was rejuvenated in 2022 as a way to channel the passion and energy of ACT-IAC's many volunteers into supporting activities that serve great causes. Throughout the year, ACT-IAC identifies charitable organizations in the Washington, DC region and organizes volunteer events to support.
We are fortunate to have a large membership base who are generous with their time, talent, and treasure. Some examples of projects we've completed in the past year are listed below, as well as upcoming projects in 2024.
Previous Events:
-Hosted a meal for families at the Ronald McDonald House in Falls Church, VA
-Assembled and donated 100 hygiene kits for the Salvation Army homeless program
-Neighborhood trash clean up at Glenfield Park in Silver Spring, MD with the Potomac Conservancy
-Welcome veterans to DC on Honor Flights on a quarterly basis and thank them for their service
-Prepare hundreds of meals for local schoolchildren at DC Central Kitchen
-Raised 340 lbs of food for the Hershey Food Bank in Hershey, PA
-Decorated and assembled 100 craft kits and gifts for Caitlin's Smiles
-Lay wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery annually as part of Wreaths Across America
-Served fresh, healthy produce and pantry staples to families in need at Martha's Table
