Sequoia Springs Trauma Healing Center, Inc. (Sequoia Springs) is a not-for-profit organization focused on providing accessible and integrative treatment, education, and outreach related to trauma and its impact on individuals, families, and the community. Sequoia Springs’ clinicians and their partners specialize in working with various forms of trauma survival and we are equipped to work with many different treatment modalities to meet the needs of children, teens, adults, elders, couples, families, first responders, and military.
Sequoia Springs takes a holistic, multi-faceted approach in helping clients heal from trauma and its deeprooted effects. The agency’s unique approach is based on the understanding that healing from trauma is best achieved when talk therapy is coupled with other integrative therapies, addressing trauma at both an emotional and physical level.
When thinking about an image that captures how powerful it is to work with trauma survivors, what came to mind was how many pine trees generate new growth. Fire climax pines, like the Sequoia, drop their cones on the forest floor, and inside the cone, encased in its protective exterior are the seeds for new growth. These seeds can only open through the impact of fire.
The Sequoia became our inspiration.
It is from the fire that the Sequoia seeds are opened, and in the ashes of what has passed, the ground becomes a space that can create soil that allows for the new growth to happen.
Trauma, like a fire in the forest, is devastating, but it does not have to mean the end of the story.
The strongest and mightiest of Sequoias have all come out of a fire.
Sequoia Springs is focused on treating people and their loved ones impacted by traumatic events, including but not limited to sexual assault, abuse, injury, divorce, abusive relationships, social and peer issues, racism, bullying, addictions, grief, and loss, being a victim or witness to a crime, chronic and terminal illness, and combat. Sequoia Springs serves all members of the greater Tucson community and is committed to an open and supportive environment regardless of race, color, religion or religious beliefs, age, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran status, or genetic information.
