PROJECT VETRELIEF INC

PROJECT: VetRelief was created in 2014 as a 501c3 nonprofit program under The American Legion, Department of Florida.

Under PROJECT: VetRelief, we have to two services that we provide our veteran community; emergency assistance and suicide prevention. When dealing with a life emergency, PROJECT: VetRelief supports our service members and their families with immediate financial assistance. The funds we provide are not a loan, and are granted during a financial crisis, no strings attached. Our hope is to keep food on the table or the lights on while a family works through a trying time in their lives. The Suicide Prevention Initiative focuses on training or mentoring veterans through existing mental health treatments, programs or processes to avoid suicide. The documented suicide rate for veterans is at an alarming 22 veterans per day. We hope that one day that number is zero!
