Employment Connection is a St. Louis community asset dedicated to assisting individuals with limited opportunities to self-sufficiency. The agency was created after a study done by the Young Lawyers Division of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis determined that ex-offenders were 66% less likely to recidivate if they were employed.
In 1980, the agency became a United Way partner and expanded the target population to other vulnerable populations including, but not limited to, TANF and SNAP recipients, homeless individuals and families, veterans, at-risk youth and low income individuals. On average, Employment Connection serves 1,500 individuals each year. The agency prides itself in preparing individuals find not just a job, but a career.
