The Patriots Program is designed to specifically work with veterans who struggle with PTSD or other traumatic injuries. We work with the veterans utilizing Equine Assisted Therapy to provide them a mechanism to cope with the struggles associated with combat. We find that the veterans interact with the horses and develop a dynamic that allows them to relax and find comfort through the horse. By connecting with horses, veterans can develop healthy behaviors and relationships based on mutual respect, trust and partnership. We also provide dinner to the veterans every Thursday night so that they have the opportunity to fellowship, hang out, and talk with other veterans as a support group.
