Picture a single mother working two jobs whose bathroom starts leaking through the floor… an elderly widow whose heater fails during a cold snap… or a disabled veteran who can no longer safely get in or out of his home. For vulnerable homeowners—many living on fixed or low incomes—these urgent repairs aren’t just inconveniences. They force impossible choices between paying for food, medicine, utilities or a critical home repair.
The need is growing. Across metro Atlanta, over 137,000 homes in Gwinnett alone were built before 1990, pointing to an aging housing stock in urgent need of repair. At the same time, rising costs mean thousands of seniors, single parents, and families are now living with unsafe or unhealthy conditions and have nowhere to turn.
Home Repairs Ministries exists to change that. Through generous supporters, skilled volunteers, and trusted contractors, HRM provides free critical home repairs.
HRM serves homeowners across Gwinnett, North Fulton and Forsyth counties and partners with local organizations to help strengthen the community.
In 2025 alone, HRM received 1,551 requests for help in the first six months and now completes an average of eight projects every week, many involving multiple repairs inside one home.
Home Repairs Ministries is committed to repairing homes—and hearts—so vulnerable homeowners can live safely, with dignity, and without fear.
