COMMUNITY LEGAL AID INC

Community Legal Aid, Inc. (CLA) is the free civil legal aid provider for residents of the five counties of central and western Massachusetts (Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, and Worcester).

CLA and its subsidiary employs a team of over 100 full-time attorneys and legal advocates who specialize in a variety of civil legal issues. Through its Pro Bono Program, CLA also refers cases out to members of the private bar.

CLA helps tenants threatened with eviction or the loss of a rent subsidy; homeless families trying to access shelter; individuals and families trying to access public benefits programs and unemployment compensation; domestic violence victims seeking help with family law matters; persons seeking humanitarian-based immigration relief; students in need of services to help them thrive in school; elders facing threats to their autonomy, independence, or safety, and persons seeking help with a legal problem because they are a victim of a crime or a survivor of a homicide victim. CLA is also a resource for individuals facing illegal discrimination in housing, employment, and education.
