What is Canine Companions?
Canine Companions® is a national nonprofit that provides expertly trained service dogs to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities – completely free of charge.
Founded in 1975, Canine Companions has placed over 8,000 service and facility dogs, changing thousands of lives. Our work is made possible through the dedication of volunteers, donors, and community partners like you.
What is DogFest Houston?
DogFest Houston is a community fundraising event celebrating the bond between humans and their dogs, all while raising critical funds for Canine Companions. This dog-friendly day includes:
✔️ Vendor booths
✔️ Fun activities for dogs and humans
✔️ And lots of tail wags!
Why Volunteer at DogFest?
Volunteers are the heart of DogFest! Whether you’re helping set up, greeting guests, handing out water, running the registration booth, you’re making an impact by helping us deliver a smooth, joyful, and meaningful experience for all.
Volunteer Roles Include:
• Check-in: Welcome participants and assist with registration.
• Set-up/Take-down: Help with the setup of event spaces and the breakdown at the end of the day. Set up will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and tear down will begin at 1 p.m.
• Runner/Misc. Needs: Be on hand to assist with various tasks and ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Activity Booths: Engage with attendees at activity booths and help facilitate fun and interactive experiences.
