The Corioli Institute is an independent think-and-do tank that integrates rigorous academic research with practical action to strengthen climate and human security and support reintegration in fragile and violence-affected regions worldwide. The organization is distinguished by its "radical participation" philosophy, which places affected communities at the center of both research and implementation rather than relying on outside expert solutions. As a woman-owned, majority-minority, and veteran-led organization, the Corioli Institute trains and upskills violence affected populations to employ as researchers and analysts, creating employment opportunities while benefiting from their direct experience. Our work focuses on strengthening community resilience, enhancing security, and improving reintegration outcomes through methodological innovations that emphasize lived experience and community partnership.
The Corioli Institute fills a glaring gap in the political economy of community rebuilding by conducting essential mixed-methods research to identify the most effective integration initiatives on a context-by-context basis. Its primary goal is to equip these initiatives with the necessary technical knowledge and skills to effectively engage with the international donor community.
