REACHcycles Richmond chapter of NATIONAL AMBUCS INC

REACHcycles is an all-volunteer organization that addresses a local need for disabled veterans and children who are unable to ride traditional bikes, and are unable to afford therapeutic cycles. Since 2014, REACHcycles has donated approximately 100 AmTryke cycles to children and veterans in the Richmond community who have a variety of disabilities including cerebral palsy, spinal bifida, Down syndrome, autism and a variety of congenital and chromosomal disorders. AmTryke therapeutic cycles provide mobility, exercise and independence for children and veterans. REACHcycles works closely with local physical therapists to identify individuals in the Richmond community who would benefit from a customized, therapeutic AmTryke cycle. AmTryke cycles cost an average of $820 (ranging from $350 - $1200) per cycle. Costs vary with the age and size of the individual, and necessary modifications of the tricycle are based upon individual needs.
