Dear Supporter,
New Year’s Eve is often celebrated as a night of joy and connection—but for many individuals in recovery, it can also be one of the most difficult and triggering nights of the year. The cultural emphasis on alcohol-fueled parties and the prevalence of substance use can create intense pressure and isolation for people who are working hard to maintain their recovery.
As a peer-led Recovery Community Organization, Peer 180 exists to provide safe, supportive, and substance-free alternatives where individuals and families can celebrate together in ways that honor recovery. To meet this need, we are hosting Rocking Recovery New Year’s Eve—a community-wide, alcohol-free event designed to provide fun, connection, and hope as we welcome a new year.
While Grand Junction, Colorado, is often considered an urban hub, the reality is that it functions much like a rural community. On New Year’s Eve, there are no options for people in recovery outside of the bar scene. This lack of accessible, substance-free gatherings leaves many feeling isolated—or worse, tempted back into high-risk environments. Our event helps fill this critical gap by offering a safe, welcoming, and celebratory alternative.
This event will include:
A safe and festive space with music, dancing, and celebration without alcohol or drugs.
Family-friendly activities that welcome people of all ages.
Peer support and resources to strengthen recovery connections going into the new year.
A visible message to our community that recovery is not only possible, but worth celebrating.
We are seeking funding support to make this event free and accessible to everyone in our community. Your sponsorship will directly help us cover costs for venue, food, entertainment, decorations, and outreach so that no one is turned away for financial reasons.
By supporting Rocking Recovery New Year’s Eve, you are helping ensure that individuals in recovery—and their families—have a safe place to belong on one of the most high-risk nights of the year. Together, we can turn a night of potential struggle into a night of joy, connection, and hope.
We would be honored to partner with you in this effort. Thank you for considering supporting Peer 180 and standing with us in creating healthier, stronger communities through recovery.
With gratitude,
