Ever since its creation, Dăruiește Viață (Give Life) has been transforming healthcare in Romania. The organization has influenced government policies, including changing a Minister Order, and has consistently offered support to cancer patients in collaboration with authorities. Over the years, Dăruiește Viață has modernized oncology departments across the country, including Brașov, Timișoara, Cluj, and București, ensuring that thousands of patients receive care at western standards.
Dăruiește Viață has also launched the most ambitious social involvement project of recent years: building Romania’s first National Hospital for Children with Cancer, Severe Diseases, and Trauma. Today, more than 350,000 individuals and over 4,000 companies are part of the #WeBuildAHospital (#NoiFacemUnSpital) community, working together to create a lasting impact on Romanian healthcare.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dăruiește Viață acted swiftly to support the healthcare system. The organization built Modular Hospital No. 1 Elias, initially for COVID-19 patients—a EUR 2.2 million investment that will continue to serve as a burn victim unit. Additionally, over 140 medical units in 102 cities and towns received essential protection and medical equipment. In total, with the help of its donors and sponsors, Dăruiește Viață distributed 17 tons of personal protective equipment (PPE) across Romania.
